According to TMZ, D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has the same tattoo on his right index finger. The tattoo isn't particularly unique. Other celebrities such as Rihanna, Lindsay Lohan, and Lily Allen also share the same tattoo on their index fingers.

TMZ' Charles Latibeaudiere told FOX 11 they got a tip last week and reached out to Rivas' mom, who told them that all she knew was that Celeste was dating someone named "David", although she'd never seen the boy. Rivas' mother told the publication her daughter had been missing for more than a year and she was suspicious of the remains found in the Tesla.

Rivas was 13 when she was reported missing on April 5, 2024 from Lake Elsinore.

Following news of Rivas' death, D4vd canceled his show in Seattle for Wednesday night as part of his "Withered" world tour, TMZ reports. D4vd had been touring during the ongoing investigation and police previously said he was cooperating with investigators. LAPD has not named him a person of interest or a suspect.

LAPD investigating

What they're saying:

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement it confirmed with "the Los Angeles Police Department that Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been identified as the juvenile who was reported missing from Lake Elsinore. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating this incident as a homicide and will be the point of contact for any further details regarding this investigation."

In a follow-up statement, the sheriff’s office later clarified that the LAPD is the lead agency on the case and the main point of contact.

D4vd Tesla linked to missing girl

The backstory:

According to the LAPD, the Tesla was impounded and towed to the yard - an "official police garage" - by the city Department of Transportation because it was "parked on a public street for more than 72 hours."

The car is believed to have been parked in the Hollywood Hills. Investigators said the Tesla had been parked at the location for nearly a month.

Neighbors told Rolling Stone the Tesla Model Y had been moved several times over the past three months before it was ultimately found on Bluebird Avenue, where it was ultimately located.

The dismembered remains of Rivas were discovered on Sept. 8 inside a vehicle after employees at Hollywood Tow reported smelling a strong odor.

When police arrived, they discovered the body wrapped in a bag inside the Tesla's trunk.

A decomposing body was found inside a Tesla that was towed to a Hollywood impound lot. TMZ reports the car was registered to singer D4vd.

Not long after D4vd's name was linked to the Tesla investigation, he was dropped by crocs and Hollister just days after he was announced as the face of their "Dream Drop" collaboration.

The products he modeled were released but his face was cropped out of all the photos.

Neighbors describe Celeste

Celeste's friends are saying little, but they are obviously upset. Neighbors say she grew up in Lake Elsinore and thought she had run away. But they never imagined such a horrible ending to her life.

"She was a good student, a happy child," said one neighbor, who picked up her son from school after he called her, crying. "They grew up together" she adds, he is so upset!
