Burbank police seek help to find missing man with dementia

Authorities again asked for public help on Sunday to find a 62-year- old man with dementia who walked out of his assisted-living facility in Burbank.

Armando Alaniz left the Le Bleu Chateau facility in the 1900 block of Grismer Avenue on the evening of Oct. 20, said Burbank police Sgt. Deerek Green.

Alaniz, who is diabetic, has no known family.

"Mr. Alaniz has left the facility twice before, warranting other missing person investigations," Green said. "In the past, he has been found looking for recyclables in various spots around the city.

At this time, no foul play is suspected."  Police circulated photos of Alaniz, who is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 120 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing along-sleeve gray shirt and gray sweat pants.

He may be wearing an alarm bracelet from the assisted-living facility.

Anyone knowing his whereabouts was urged to call Burbank police at 818-238-3000, or their nearest law enforcement agency.
