Buena Park PD creates 'Safe Exhange Zone' for transactions set-up online

If you worry about physically meeting at an agreed upon spot to make an online sales exchange only to be robbed or even dead.

Buena Park police have set up a safe space called the 'Safe Exchange Zone.'

Two designated parking spaces in front of the police department where you can exchange your goods.

Nationwide the need for these types of areas is growing as crime related to sites like Craigslist continues to rise.

Craigslist lets you exchange and buy items, but often you have to meet up with the person to make the deal.

The 'Safe Exchange Zone' is available 24-hours a day

It is well lit and has surveillance cameras.

Police hope sites like these will prevent scammers from taking advantage of unsuspecting customers.
