Brush Fire Scorches 300 Acres In Lancaster

LANCASTER (CNS/FOX 11) - A two-alarm brush fire burning in the Lancaster area scorched about 300 acres Friday.

The blaze was reported about 1:50 p.m. near 160th Street West and Lancaster Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Almost 200 firefighters were battling the blaze, which has been aided by near 80-degree temperatures and close to 30-mile-per-hour winds, officials said.

There were no reports of injuries or structures being threatened, according to a fire department dispatcher.
