Bloody body with box over head found in Alhambra backyard

The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department is investigating a possible homicide after a bloody body was found with a cardboard box over the head in the backyard of a home in Alhambra.

LASD says they got the call from a neighbor near the 1200 block of Sierra Vista Avenue at around 4:30 pm. The neighbor reported seeing someone bleeding from the head in a nearby backyard.

The body was wedged in between a water heater and concrete steps, and a cardboard box had been placed over the head. LASD says they aren't sure if the body is male or female.

"We can't really see what happened to the person, there's a box on top of their head we don't know who put it there, you can see a lot of blood around the head but we don't know how the person got their injury," said Lt. John Korina. "So right now we're just gonna treat it as a possible homicide until we find out something else.

LASD told FOX 11 they detained 4 people from inside the house, but they only speak Chinese, so they were taken to the station to be interviewed with an interpreter.

In the meantime, LASD will be canvassing the area to look for any video and witnesses, and is in the process of getting search warrants to go into the home.
