An 18-year-old Banning woman who reported the stabbing of a juvenile, said to be her boyfriend, was later arrested and booked on suspicion of committing the crime, authorities said.

On Sunday, Jan. 26, officers with the Banning Police Department were called to a home located in the 1500 block Altura Place, located near the intersection of George and N. 16th streets, following a report of a stabbing.

Arriving officers were then notified about a possible home-invasion style attack.

The stabbing victim was transported to an area trauma center with multiple stab wounds. The name of the victim is being withheld due to his age.

While the victim suffered multiple stab wounds, officials said he is expected to survive.

Investigators later determined that the reporting party, identified as 18-year-old Eirianna Zaragoza, was allegedly in a domestic dispute with the victim.

She was arrested and booked for attempted murder and inflicting corporal injury on a dating partner.
