Authorities investigating officer-involved shooting in Boyle Heights

Police investigated a shooting in Boyle Heights Wednesday afternoon in the area of Kearney Street and N. Myers Street.

An officer-needs-help-with-shots-fired call was sent out by an LAPD officer at about 4:49 p.m. Authorities confirm there was an officer-involved shooting with one person wounded.

It's unclear if the person hit by gunfire was the suspect. That person was reported unconscious and not breathing. An ambulance was called to the scene but it's unknown if the injured person was taken to the hospital.

A suspect's vehicle described as a white Camry was seen nearby with the doors and trunk open.

The area has been taped off by police for the investigation.
