Attempted robbery in Beverly Hills triggers school lockdown; suspects still at large

A large police presence in Beverly Hills for much of the afternoon on Tuesday after a witness reported an attempted home burglary.

Beverly Hills police responded to the 800 block of Redford Drive in Beverly Hills after receiving a call just after 3 PM about an attempted break in.

A witness says she was working inside the home and noticed two men dressed in all back clothing and hoodies attempting to break inside.

When police arrived they put up a perimeter around several blocks and searched for the suspects for several hours.

Hawthorne School about two blocks away on North Rexford Drive was locked down as a precaution.

Residents were able to return to their homes just after 6:30PM.

The suspects are still at large. No injuries were reported.
