Arson investigators look into marijuana dispensary fire

It took the combined effort of more than 100 firefighters to extinguish a greater alarm fire at a medical marijuana dispensary early Tuesday morning.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was notified at 3:40 AM on September 1, 2015 of a structure fire at 6015 South Broadway Street in South Los Angeles, where firefighters arrived quickly to find a well-secured one story building with smoke showing. Witnesses described a loud sound - possibly an explosion, within the building, prior to noting the fire.

One hundred and four firefighters under the command of LAFD Assistant Chief Donald Frazeur skilfully confined the fire within the 4,600 square foot building of fire origin, extinguishing the flames in just 46 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

Fire loss to L.A. Mart Collective is still being tabulated. The cause of the fire remains under active investigation.
