Armed robbery suspect sparks manhunt in North Hollywood

Los Angeles police set up a large perimeter on Lankershim Boulevard between Erwin and Oxnard streets in North Hollywood as they searched for an armed robbery suspect Wednesday night.

That portion of Lankershim is closed until further notice. Shortly before 10 p.m., police found the suspect and took him into custody. Officers are still searching for a weapon.

A male suspect tried robbing the Harbor Freight Tools store in the 6000 block of Lankershim Boulevard, according to authorities.

The suspect ran away before police arrived but authorities believe the suspect is within the perimeter.

Police officers searched businesses to try to find this suspect. At least one K9 team was used to help with the search.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported in this incident. No further details were immediately known.

The investigation is ongoing.
