A new Zendejas adds to the football family's fame

There's a name in Southern California that is synonymous with football, Zendejas. The family of famous football kickers is from Chino, with so many brothers and cousins going on to kick in college or in the NFL.

Now there's a new Zendejas on the field, Cristian.

Cristian Zendejas is the son of Luis who played in the NFL for Minnesota, Philadelphia, and Dallas. As Luis worked for the Arizona Cardinals his son grew up in Arizona

Cristian now kicks for Arizona State University.  It's a success story as Cristian was a walk-on and got the job after the starter got injured. Cristian, a sophomore, proved his worth and is now the team's kicker and was given a scholarship.

His father couldn't be more proud and shared his joy while visiting his high school alma mater, Don Lugo High School in Chino.

Cristian is following in famous footsteps. His uncle Tony guesses 10 or 11 Zendejas boys have played college or pro ball. Among the teams that Tony kicked for, the L.A. Rams. He now runs his restaurant and sports bar in San Dimas 'Zendejas Mexican Restaurant,' home to the family wall of fame.

Cristian and ASU face UCLA at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 26.
