A look at some fun events happening in Los Angeles this weekend: Jan. 10-12

From riding without pants on the Metro to snapping photos at a new trendy pop-up bar… there are tons of fun events happening in Los Angeles this weekend. Here is a look at a few. 


No Pants Metro Ride:

Ever wanted to travel through LA without pants? Well here’s your chance. Sunday, January 12 is No Pants Metro Ride. The 19th Annual No Pants Subway Ride takes place in numerous cities around the world. GuerilLA is teaming up with Improv Everywhere who started the first ride in New York City back in 2002. Those in Los Angeles can travel throughout the Metro pantsless. The six Metro stations participating include: 

-Del Mar station on the Gold Line in Pasadena
-Atlantic station on the Gold Line in East Los Angeles
-Willowbrook/Rosa Parks station on the A Line (Blue) in Willowbrook
-North Hollywood station on the Red Line in North Hollywood
-Wilshire/Western station on the Purple Line in Koreatown
-Culver City station on the E Line (Expo) in Culver City

Lunar New Year Festival 2020

Celebrate the year of the rat in style in Monterey Park. The Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year, is a festival that celebrates the Chinese culture. The festival takes place from Saturday, Jan. 11 to Sunday, Jan. 12 on Garvey Ave. between Garfield and Alhambra avenues. Festivities will include traditional Lion and Dragon dances, Chinese martial arts, orchestra, delicious food and so much more.

Basic B*tch Pop-Up Bar

It’s a selfie lover’s paradise! For one day only on Saturday, Jan. 11 you can explore a new pop-up bar in downtown LA known as Basic B*tch. The Basic B*tch Pop-Up Bar features Instagram worthy cocktails, foods, photo installations and so much more. It’s a perfect time to snap that perfect photo with your friends.

Moonlight Forest Lantern Art Festival 

This is your last weekend to enjoy the Moonlight Forest Magical Lantern Art Festival at the Los Angeles Arboretum in Arcadia. The festival is family-friendly walk-through event that features colorful animals, plants and Chinese culture in the form of lanterns. You can also expect to see dancers, acrobats and live entertainers.
