Big rig crashes on SB 5 Freeway
A big rig was caused in a crash on the southbound 5 Freeway on Monday morning.
LOS ANGELES - Two separate crashes involving big rigs on the 5 and 405 Freeways made for a tough commute on what was a foggy morning in Southern California.
Drivers were asked to use other routes and to pack their patience.

Big rig overturns on 405 Freeway
A big rig overturned on the northbound side of the 405 Freeway at Howard Hughes Parkway.
The first crash was reported on the northbound side of the 405 Freeway just south of Howard Hughes Parkway, near the Los Angeles International Airport, around 5:30 a.m.
A Sig Alert was issued after California Highway Patrol shut down lanes 2,3 and 4.
Video from the scene showed piles of waste spilling onto the roadway.
Big rig crashes on southbound 5 Freeway in Boyle Heights
Within an hour, another crash was reported on the southbound 5 Freeway in the Boyle Heights area.
SkyFOX flew over the scene and showed the big rig trailer suffered damage in the crash.
The southbound lanes came to a complete stop as crews worked to crew at least one lane for commuters. Traffic was backed up for miles and affected the 101, 10 and 60 freeways.
FOX 11’s Stu Mundel recommended drivers take the 60 Freeway to the 710, where they can re-join the 5 Freeway.
No injuries were reported in the crashes.
