3 people found dead inside Baldwin Park home, suspect arrested
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. - An 8-year-old girl is among the three people killed in their home in Baldwin Park.
Officers with the Baldwin Park Police Department responded to a house on the 4700 block of Bogart Avenue around 6:45 p.m. Thursday after receiving a 911 call of a disturbance in the neighborhood.
Investigators found three people – later identified as Rona Nate, 44, Paul Manangan, 16, and Mia Narvaez, 8 – dead inside the house.
When officers arrived at the scene, they saw a person trying to speed out of the driveway before crashing into a cul-de-sac. That person was taken into custody as a "person of interest" in the case, according to police.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department later arrested and booked that person on suspicion of murder. They were only identified as a 23-year-old Asian man.
Officials said the suspect was related to the victims and lived at the house. Deputies did not specify the suspect's relationship with the family.
"It's safe to say that this was not a random attack, a random act of violence, that there is an association. That’s what we need to determine during the investigation…what’s the relationships and the association," said Lieutenant Michael Modica with the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.
Authorities have not provided any further information on the victims or a possible motive.
