17-year-old girl killed in officer-involved shooting in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, Calif. (FOX11) - A 17-year-old female suspect was fatally shot and killed during an officer-involved shooting on the eastbound 91 Freeway in Anaheim.
The suspect's name has not been released but police say she is a resident of Anaheim.
The shooting happed Friday shortly after 7 p.m. on the freeway near the Kraemer Boulevard exit and
prompted the closure of the eastbound lanes of the freeway.
Saturday morning investigators reported that "an item appearing to be a handgun was recovered at the scene."
It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting. Fullerton police confirmed that one of their officers was "involved in an on-duty officer-involved shooting'' on the freeway.
The Anaheim Police Department is handling the investigation.
