Rain and strong winds to hit SoCal through Thursday

Rain, strong winds and mountain snow was expected to move into Southern California Wednesday and continue through at least Thursday, forecasters said.

Most areas will see about a half inch of rain on Wednesday.

The rain was expected to be heavy at times, especially on Thursday. Forecasters said 1 inch to 2.5 inches could fall Thursday in coastal and valley areas.

Approximately 2 to 4 inches of rain were in the foothills and mountains.

Forecasters said there was another chance of showers lingering into the weekend.
