High heat persists in Southern California

LOS ANGELES (FOX 11 / CNS) - More than two days of high surf along the Southland Coast will come to an end Wednesday morning but high heat will persist, with highs reaching 92 in Orange County, 96 degrees in the San Fernando Valley and 100 in the Antelope Valley.

The high surf advisory underway since Monday in L.A. and Orange counties will expire at 8 this morning. High temperatures, meanwhile, will persist.

The National Weather Service forecast a combination of sunny and partly cloudy skies in L.A. County today and highs of 74 degrees at LAX; 75 in Avalon; 81 in Long Beach; 82 in Downtown L.A.; 88 in San Gabriel; 89 in Burbank; 91 in Pasadena; 94 in Saugus; 96 in Woodland Hills; and 100 in Palmdale and Lancaster.

Sunny skies were forecast in Orange County, along with highs of 71 in San Clemente; 73 in Newport Beach; 76 in Laguna Beach; 84 in Anaheim; 85 in Irvine; 87 in Fullerton; 89 in Yorba Linda; and 92 in Mission Viejo.
