4.1 earthquake strikes near Mammoth Lakes

A magnitude 4.1 earthquake has struck 11 miles southeast of Mammoth Lakes, California.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake hit at 2:50 p.m. Friday and had an epicenter about 6 miles (12 kilometers) west of Tom's Place.

The agency says the earthquake had a depth of about 2.1 miles (3.4 kilometers.)

Reports from the USGS indicate that the earthquake was felt in parts of Mammoth Lakes, and the San Joaquin Valley.

No injuries have been reported.
