Want LA Rams season tickets? Make your deposit online

Football fans anxious to attend Los Angeles Rams games flocked to the Internet today as the team began accepting $100 refundable deposits for a chance to purchase season tickets.

According to the team, more than 5,000 deposits were placed within five minutes of the sale beginning at 10 a.m. at the website www.WelcomeHomeRams.com. Within about 45 minutes, more than 8,000 had been
sold.

People who make a deposit are placed on a waiting list and will be able to purchase tickets before the general public, based on when the deposit was received. Each account holder will have the ability to purchase up to eight
season tickets.

All Los Angeles Rams season ticket holders in the Coliseum will be guaranteed the first opportunity to buy seats, before the general public, in the team's still-to-be-built stadium in Inglewood, which is supposed to open in time for the 2019 season.

The cost of tickets has not yet been announced. People who place deposits and are on the waiting list will be notified about prices before tickets officially go on sale this spring.

Purchasing tickets for games at the Inglewood stadium when it is ready in 2019 is likely to be pricey. The Inglewood stadium will have a "personal seat license'' program will be in effect for most seats. That program, which is used at many professional sports stadiums across the country, requires buyers to pay a license fee -- often in the thousands of dollars -- for each seat, in addition to the actual ticket price.

According to the team's website, details of the program haven't yet been set, but "we do anticipate the majority of the seats if not all will require some type of a personal seat license with differing price categories based upon
seating locations and amenities.''
