LA gets ready for World Series 2017!

Dodger Stadium sure was an exciting place to be today, and that's 5 days before the World Series starts.

The official World Series logo was being applied by hand to the edges of the field. The "Top of the Park'' souvenir shop was packed all day long. Hats, t-shirts, baseballs, sweatshirts, keychains, bats, game jerseys, and toys were being sold at record pace.

One woman we were with literally bought 16 hats at $28 a piece. "Money is no object. When you're in the series once every 29 years, why not?"

FOX 11's Phil Shuman spoke to one man from Paramount who put it very simply: "This is in our blood. We bleed Dodgers Blue" with apologies to the great one, Tommy Lasorda.

Another fan said, "This is history."

And it is.

And it will be. How exciting is this team!

Unfortunately for the general public, the tickets are gone. If you are a season ticket holder, it's great you got to buy potential playoffs and World Series tickets back in September. If you were lucky enough to get in on last week's public lottery that made a couple thousand tickets available, congratulations. Otherwise it's the so called secondary market -- online, where today a quick check had the cheapest seats in the outfield pavilion starting at more than $1000. By comparison, seriously, on the same night, if you're looking for something else to do, go to Staples and it's Clippers vs the Jazz with the lowest price available starts at $6.
