Young violinist plays in public to pay for music lessons
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (FOX 11) - They say it doesn't matter where you come from as long as you know where you're going. That's the case with 12-year-old Yuliana Lagunas.
She comes from a low income family but Yuliana says she won't let poverty stop her from achieving her dreams. On weekends, she hits the streets and plays her heart out in hopes of having people donate money so she can pay for her music classes.
Yuliana says, "My goal is to be in one of the biggest Philharmonics and I want to study at Juilliard or the Royal Academy of London."
I had seen Yuliana performing outside of Portos in Burbank several times before I finally approached her and asked her a few questions. I was blown away by her talent and determination to achieve her musical goals. I think we can all learn a thing or two from this 12 year old girl.
When you set your heart and mind to it, nothing can stop you!
