Woman Stabbed By Transient While Skateboarding In Covina

COVINA (CNS/FOX 11) - A 23-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times by a transient while skateboarding early Monday morning in an unincorporated area just north of Covina, authorities said.

The attack at the Oak Knoll Alternative School at Cienega and Bonnie Cove avenues happened around 12:45 a.m., said Lt. Elisabeth Sachs of the sheriff's San Dimas Station.

The woman was skateboarding with friends when she was approached by a transient on a bicycle whom she recognized as someone she knew a long time ago,
Sachs said. "He began stabbing her and stabbed her multiple times,'' she said.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where she displayed stable vital signs, Sachs said.

The suspect ran away from the scene and deputies were searching for him with bloodhounds, she said.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 180 pounds, according to the sheriff's department. He has blue eyes and short blond hair.
