Why is the L.A. County voting sticker bigger?
(FOX 11) - L.A. County is one of the most diverse counties in the nation, and now they have a voting sticker to prove it.
The county previously had a sticker featuring the phrase "I voted" for the seven languages they translate election material on: English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Tagalog/Filipino, and Vietnamese.
But last year, Armenian, Hindi, Farsi, Khmer/Cambodian, Russian, Thai were added to the list of languages translated.
Brenda Duran with the registrar's office said they looked to redesign the sticker to include the new languages.
"We've always been committed to being inclusive," said Duran.
Being inclusive, meant making the sticker even bigger. The registrar's office said they had been getting multiple calls from people about the size.
"We're happy with where it is now and it will probably be around for a long time," said Duran
Vote by mail voters will also receive the new sticker.
