Westbound lanes of 118 Freeway reopen after three-vehicle crash involving charter bus

All westbound lanes of the 118 Freeway were reopened after a crash that involved a charter bus carrying school-aged children in Simi Valley Tuesday morning. 

The collision garnered a large response. California Highway Patrol and The Ventura County Fire Department responded to the crash located on the 118 Freeway near Madera Road around 9:30 am.  Aerial footage from Sky FOX showed firefighters pulling children from that bus with 40 people on board. Authorities confirmed the bus contained 33 students and seven adults who escaped the crash by climbing down a latter on the side of the bus. 

Four people involved in the crash were taken to a hospital and no serious injuries were reported. 

The lanes were reopened by 11:40 a.m.
