Wedding ring, cash stolen from USWNT player's hotel room in downtown L.A.

U.S. Women's National Team player Allie Long announced on social media Thursday night the Los Angeles hotel room where she was staying while in town for the ESPYs was burglarized.

Los Angeles police said the burglary was reported this afternoon and an investigation determined it occurred Wednesday evening, between 8:45 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Long was staying at the Ritz Carlton in downtown Los Angeles, less than a quarter-mile from Microsoft Theatre, where the ESPYs were held.

Long tweeted "After the ESPYs show someone stole my wedding ring, cash and the key to my favorite city after just receiving it from my hotel room."

She and her teammates from the World Cup winning U.S. team each received a key to the city from New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio in a ceremony Wednesday honoring their victory.

Long asked de Blasio on Twitter if she could get a new key.

The investigation is underway. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact LAPD.
