Water main break causes massive flooding, street closures

A water main break in the Country Club Park area Wednesday affected service for about 30 customers, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power reported.

The break occurred outside of 1036 S. Norton Ave. about 7:20 a.m., said LADWP spokesman Michael Ventre.

"The break was in a four-inch cast iron pipe," Ventre said. "It's impacted about 30 of our customers."

Ventre said the water main break has not caused any street closures. A LADWP repair crew is on the scene and working to fix the pipe.

"We don't have any estimate yet on how long those repairs will take," he said.
