Watch: Dog leads police on chase across Bay Bridge in San Francisco

A Chihuahua was safely "taken into custody" after leading a California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer on a "high-speed pursuit" Sunday across the Bay Bridge in San Francisco.

The CHP started receiving calls early Sunday about a dog running in freeway lanes. An officer on a motorcycle tried to scoop him up -- but he took off across the bridge.

A team of officers were finally able to corner the little guy and take him into custody.

Later in the day, CHP posted an update saying that the dog was picked up by San Francisco County Animal Care.
