Vector officials on alert due to increase in mosquitoes in Orange County

There has been a spike in invasive mosquitoes that can carry diseases like chikungunya and yellow fever in Orange County.

Officials are warning residents with signs posted throughout neighborhoods.

The mosquitoes have been reported in Santa Ana, Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Brea and Irvine.

Orange County vector officials will go door to door this weekend to help residents eliminate breeding resources.
