Two small quakes strike near Ridgecrest

RIDGECREST, Calif. - Several small earthquakes struck Sunday night near Ridgecrest, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The largest one, with a preliminary magnitude of 4.3, hit around 14 miles east of Ridgecrest about 9:15 p.m., the USGS reported.
The earlier quake measuring magnitude 3.0 struck just more than 31 miles northwest of the town, about 8:25 p.m.
No damage or injuries were reported.
Last week, the area was hit by a 5.5. magnitude temblor.
