TextAsap helps keep waiting rooms empty in effort to maintain social distancing

With the coronavirus putting so many out of work, think of how the changes are putting others to work. One tech entrepreneur came up with a text feature for doctors and dentists called TextAsap. It keeps patient waiting rooms empty in an effort at social distancing.

Sam Park created the texting feature for medical offices to set and confirm appointments about two years ago. He adjusted it with the coronavirus pandemic to accommodate concerns about reducing health risks.

As a patient, you text to check-in when you arrive at an appointment and wait in your car until the office sends a text back to come in. That way, there are no other patients mixing in the waiting room during the pandemic.

In a TikTok video, an Orange County orthodontist showed off the feature along with its other safety measure. Sons and Daughters Orthodontics did a soft opening on Monday. The TikTok video showed medical personnel wearing gloves and masks and a patient entering the office free from contact with other patients.

TextAsap charges $45.00 a month. Patients can use the feature to also send in their coronavirus test results should proof of testing and a negative result be required before entering the office.
