Teen reported missing off Huntington Beach Pier

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (FOX 11 / CNS) - A teenage swimmer was reported missing off the coast of Huntington Beach.

Jessy Cook, 18, was last seen about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday near the Huntington Beach Pier, the U.S. Coast Guard reported.

"Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach received notification of a possible missing swimmer near the Huntington Beach Pier from Orange County Sheriff's Harbor Patrol,'' a Coast Guard statement said.

A search for the woman was being conducted by personnel using boats and helicopter. Huntington Beach Police, Huntington Beach Lifeguards and Orange County Sheriffs were also involved in the search.

By Wednesday afternoon, the search was called off.
