Teen killed, 2 extricated after car crashes into pole in Mt. Washington
LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - An 18-year-old was killed and two others were seriously injured after a Honda sedan crashed into a concrete pole in Mt. Washington early Thursday morning, officials said.
The victim was identified as 18-year-old Eddie Sanchez.
Paramedics and firefighters responded to the 3800 block of North Figueroa Street near Pasadena Avenue about 2:05 a.m. and located the vehicle with three people trapped inside, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters freed the trapped patients from the vehicle, Prange said.
A red nitrate oxide canister found inside the car, police confirmed.
One of the patients was pronounced dead at the scene and two others, a man and woman, were taken to a hospital in unknown condition, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
