Suspect taken into custody after 4-hour standoff

DOWNEY, Calif. (FOX 11/ CNS) - A person wanted on a warrant was taken into custody Friday after a standoff in Downey.

Officers went to a residence in the 7700 block of Gainford Street about 4 a.m. to arrest the suspect, who refused to come out, the sheriff's department reported.

A sheriff's SWAT team was sent to the scene, and the person was taken into custody after about four hours. No injuries were reported.
