Suspect in fatal hit-and-run in Aliso Viejo arrested, victim identified

A 38-year-old Lake Forest man has been arrested in connection with the deadly hit-and-run in Aliso Viejo that took the life of a bicyclist Wednesday morning.

Rogelio Martinez Cuin was booked into Orange County Jail for felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.

The bicyclist killed has been identified as 51-year-old Aliso Viejo resident David Tomlinson.

Authorities say Tomlinson was riding on Westridge Drive, crossing Woods Canyon Drive when he was hit by a Volvo at about 6:40 a.m. The driver kept going but witnesses gave sheriff's deputies a vehicle description.

The vehicle was located about a mile away from the scene of the crime and deputies quickly arrested the suspected driver a short distance from the Volvo.
