STUDY: Sexism is bad for mental health

Of course women deserve to be treated equally...

But now it turns out being a male chauvinist is bad for your mental health. That's according to a new study on sexism in The Journal of Counseling Psychology.

Researchers at Indiana University looked at nearly 20,000 men.

They found men who stuck closely to 'masculine norms', a polite term for being sexist, were strongly linked to poorer mental health and a limited sense of well-being.

The researchers defined traditional masculinity by traits such as winning, importance placed on work, risk-taking, violence, promiscuity, and dislike for the LGBT community.
