Silver Lake shopping center without power for nearly 3 months

The summer heat is causing some big problems for several small businesses in Silver Lake.

It's been more than two months since a fire in the Fletcher Square strip center damaged the electrical system and knocked out power to multiple stores on May 5th.

The water store immediately closed up shop, so did the Thai restaurant.

Gus' Lunch Box tried to stay open until the summer heat made the restaurant too unbearable.

Yolanda Moreno, owner of Yoly's Salon, says it's been frustrating watching her 16 year business disappear to nearly nothing.

The landlord sent notices for the businesses to leave until the work is finished and power is restored, but instead allowed businesses to operate without paying rent.

As of now there's no firm date when power will be restored.
