Service dog of retired soldier with PTSD missing after crash

A retired army specialist has turned to the public for help in finding his service dog.

"Kyng" -- a lab-pit bull mix -- has been missing for almost a week now. Kyng's owner has taken to social media and gone out in the community in his effort to find the dog.

It has been nearly a week since Retired Army Specialist David Jaiman has seen his beloved service dog. Jaiman and James Johnson were in a horrible car accident at Flat Shoals Road near the 285 on-ramp early one morning last week. It was so bad, the airbags deployed in their silver Jeep Cherokee and the car totaled. During the chaos, Kyng, the one-and-a-half-year-old lab/pit bull mix took off running and has not been seen since.

Jaiman said he retired from the Army but now suffers from PTSD and has epileptic seizures which is why he got Kyng more than a year ago.

He said it's been extremely difficult to function these days without his best friend by his side. The worst thing about all of this, he has no idea if Kyng is dead or alive.

He described Kyng as a tan, grey, and white mix and around 34 pounds with a black collar, and no tags. His tags were still in the car.

Jaiman and Johnson said it would be so wonderful if they got Kyng back in time for Thanksgiving.
