Sad 'Pawpaw' is having a cookout and everyone is invited

(FOX 11) - The grandfather who stole hearts online after cooking burgers for his grandchildren only to have just one show up is apparently having a giant cookout -- and everyone is invited.

Twitter user @kelssseyharmon said Wednesday that she was the only one of six grandkids to show up for burger night at 'Papaw's' house.

"Dinner with papaw tonight," she wrote. "He made 12 burgers for all six grandkids and I'm the only one who showed."

The tweet inspired sadness for the grandfather as well as anger toward his grandkids for not appreciating the value of time spent with grandparents.

Well, the five other grandkids apparently took note of the Internet's heartbreak and are having a giant cookout for Pawpaw, according to Buzzfeed News.

"Pawpaw's having a cookout and everyone's invited," grandson Brock Harmon posted on Twitter.

The cookout is planned for March 26 in Purcell, Oklahoma. Burgers are $2 and "I had a burger with Papaw" T-shirts will also be for sale.

"It was Pawpaw's idea to have the cookout," Harmon told Buzzfeed. "He loves all of this. He never ever thought he would be a celebrity."
