'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' premieres in Hollywood

The force was out in full force in Hollywood when several blocks of Hollywood Boulevard shut down ahead of the blockbuster premiere of the latest Star Wars prequel... Rogue One. The main attraction... A life size replica of an x-wing fighter parked right along Hollywood Blvd. at Vine.

Star Wars fans couldn't contain their excitement.

"I just have nerd goosebumps up and down my arms..." said Michael Gill, who is visiting from Boston. He said he just had to see the fighter in person. And so did Peg Verdi from West Hollywood. When we caught up with her Verdi was snapping pics on her phone from the sidewalk. Earlier, she tried to get an even closer look. Verdi said, "Well I tried to sneak on the other side but I didn't want the security guy to get in trouble... So you like but it's not worth going to jail for... No, no, no. "

The Rogue One red carpet premiere happens Saturday night at the Pantages Theater. Several blocks around the theater will be shutdown until Tuesday morning causing detours and traffic jams but area residents we talked to didn't seem to mind.

"Yeah this is great... This is Hollywood, this is the industry this is why we're here... It supports a lot of us... We work in the industry and let's do it." said, Hollywood resident Todd Bittner.

And for fans like Michael Gill, the traffic is a small price to pay for a chance to geek out over his favorite movie. "I have a rebel alliance tattoo on my arm... Yes, you can say I'm a nerd."
