Pumpkin Spice Pizza is now a thing

(FOX 11) - It seems there's a pumpkin-flavored version of nearly everything these days, and now add pizza to the list.

National pizza chain Villa Italian Kitchen recently introduced what its calling the first ever pumpkin spice pizza.

The New Jersey based chain says it combined its classic cheese pizza with all the "cozy, seasonal flavors of fall."

Turns out "seasonal flavors of fall" means pumpkin pie filling. The pizza dough is topped with cheese and pumpkin pie filling and then more pumpkin filling is added on top after the pie is baked.

Jimmy Kimmel took issue with the pumpkin pizza creation on a recent episode, and the restaurant group actually responded on Facebook saying they think the comedian would change his tune fast if he had the chance to try one of their pies.
