Pomona police seek help identifying suspect who stabbed dog to death in homeowner's front yard

The Pomona Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying and locating a suspect responsible for stabbing a dog to death.

Police said that the suspect was trespassing on a property located in the 800 block of E. Second Street on Tuesday.

The homeowner's home security camera captured the suspect chasing the victim's dog in the front yard, "ultimately stabbing the harmless dog to death," Pomona police said in a press release.

The video allegedly showed the suspect holding what appeared to be a large edged weapon believed to be a knife, police said.

The suspect is presumed to be between 30 and 35 years old, around 5-foot-10-inches tall, and weighing about 130 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and frequents the 800 block of E. Second St. He was last seen wearing a "fisherman" style hat, gray t-shirt and shorts, black socks, and sandals.
