Police release security video of brutal attack and robbery in Van Nuys, three suspects wanted

The Los Angeles Police Department has released security video of a brutal attack and robbery in Van Nuys. Police are hoping the video will help track down the three suspects involved.

Police say the male victim had arranged to meet up with two girls he met online at a motel on Sepulveda Blvd. and Burbank Blvd.

The victim was walking with the two women, believed to be accomplices in the crime, when one of the female suspects motioned with her hands to a male suspect nearby, police say.

Police said the male suspect then approached the victim from behind and began striking the victim in the head multiple times with a wooden baseball bat.

The victim lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

"While the victim was unconscious on the ground, the suspect stood over the victim and struck the victim in the face numerous times with the baseball bat,'' police said.

According to police the male suspect then walked to a nearby vehicle and discarded the wooden baseball bat. He then returned to where the victim had collapsed on the ground and took the victim's wallet and cellphone from the victim's pockets.

All three suspects fled the area with the victim's property.

The victim suffered multiple facial fractures and head injuries.

Police tell us they have no way to track down the female suspects; all the communication done between the victim and the suspects was done via cellphone and police say that number is now disconnected.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to call detectives at 818-374-0087, or 877-LAPD-247.
