Police investigating triple shooting in South El Monte

Three men are expected to survive gunshot wounds they suffered in South El Monte Friday morning, apparently at a bar.

The sheriff's Temple station received a call about 2:30 a.m. reporting the presence of a gunshot victim in the area of Rosemead Boulevard and Garvey Avenue, said Deputy Trina Schaeder of the Sheriff's Information Bureau. They also received a call about another gunshot victim, about five blocks away in the area of Tyler Avenue and Rush Street, she said.

It was later discovered that another shooting victim had made his way to an area hospital, she said.

"There was possibly a bar shooting (in the area of Rosemead and Garvey) and the shooting victims started driving themselves to the hospital,'' she said, adding that the three victims are expected to survive.
