Police investigate suspicious package located outside Planned Parenthood in Whittier
WHITTIER, Calif. (FOX 11) - Authorities in Whittier were investigating a suspicious package on Tuesday morning but later determined that it did not pose a threat.
According to the Whittier Police Department, around 7 a.m., officers received a call from Planned Parenthood, located at the 7600 block of Greenleaf Ave. in the City of Whittier, regarding a "suspicious package."
The package, described as a 2x2 box, was left unattended outside the clinic.
There were no reported threats but as a precaution, police evacuated the area.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Bomb Squad responded to lead the investigation.
Shortly before 10 a.m., the LASD bomb squad cleared the suspicious package and located miscellaneous paperwork inside. The evacuation orders were lifted.
