WEST HILLS, Calif. (FOX 11) - Authorities Friday identified a man being sought as a suspect in the shooting deaths of two other men on a sports field at Shadow Ranch Park in West Hills.
Ryan Conrad, 27, of North Hollywood was taken into custody in Torrance late Friday afternoon in connection to a deadly shooting on May 22 in the 22600 block of Vanowen Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
An argument in the parking lot apparently preceded the gunfire, and police said the suspect and victims were known to one another.
Cesar Ascencio, 42, reportedly was able to speak to police before he died at a hospital. The other victim, a man in his 20s, died at the scene.
His name was being withheld pending notification of kin.
Neighbors unnerved by the killings told reporters that they have noticed gang and drug activity at the rear of the park, which is across from a private high school.
