Police break up illegal gambling operation in Koreatown

KOREATOWN, Calif. (FOX 11) - Los Angeles police SWAT and ATF arrested seven people after breaking up an illegal gambling operation in Koreatown.

Authorities served a search warrant at what they say was an empty storefront near the intersection of S. Western Avenue and W. 1st Street.

Firearms, narcotics, and money were recovered by law enforcement officials during the bust. Police believe the operation is run by street gangs like MS-13, and they've been cracking down.

The investigation is ongoing. No further details were immediately known.
