Police arrest man accused of kidnapping pregnant ex-girlfriend from her Fontana home

Police arrested a man Friday accused of kidnapping his pregnant ex-girlfriend in Fontana.

Around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, an officer was flagged down by a frantic family, who reportedly told police that 20-year-old Nicholas Hernandez had forcibly taken his ex-girlfriend, throwing her into the back seat of a vehicle, while she screamed "let go," investigators said.

Authorities said that Hernandez was seen driving a black Nissan Altima with the license plate number 7BNK161.

The victim, who was not identified, was at her home in the 9800 block of Pepper Avenue in Fontana when the alleged kidnapping occurred, police said. The victim is currently five months pregnant.

Fontana Police Detectives located and detained Hernandez around 1 a.m. Friday. The victim was also located, uninjured, authorities said.
