Photographer is 'Making Waves' making memories with Safer At Home shots

With the coronavirus we've had to wave goodbye to the norms of everyday life. One photographer is capturing this moment-in-time for everyday Angelenos with her "Making Waves Project."

Robiee Ziegler is a lifestyle and commercial photographer by trade. When the pandemic shut down career opportunities she looked for ways to stay creative.

The pandemic meant time at home so Ziegler picked up her camera and went to people's homes staying six feet away to capture a moment in history.

The Flores family choose to shoot outside their front door, out in the street, and in a vintage family truck. Their two children waved out the window to fit the theme of "Making Waves."

Ziegler's signature shot is with her waving hand visible as she shoots a photo and her subject waving back. She says "Making Waves" is not just about a keepsake photo it's about connecting community.

Ziegler works by donation. She hopes to create a movement, a connected community and turn it all into a coffee table book.

In these uncertain times she works by the theory,  "when waves come you can either go against it or go with it."

Ziegler can be reached through her website.
