New study says people aren't applying enough sunscreen to make it effective
(FOX 11) - According to a new study, you might not be using enough sunscreen!
SPF is based on sunscreen coverage of two milligrams of sunscreen per square centimeter of skin.
If consumers are using less than that, they're putting themselves at risk of sun damage.
A new study says most people who use an SPF 20 will actually be getting something like SPF 4 because they aren't applying enough.
Remember to use an even coverage of sunscreen, applied to clean, dry skin 20 minutes before you go outside to get the best protection.
Reapply every two hours and after swimming, exercising, or towel drying.
