Multi-car crash shuts down eastbound 60 Freeway in Montebello

MONTEBELLO, Calif. (FOX 11) - A 3-car crash on the eastbound 60 Freeway Thursday afternoon forced the closure of all eastbound traffic lanes.

One person became trapped inside an overturned vehicle and was taken to a local hospital after Los Angeles County firefighters were able to free him from the wreck. His condition is unknown.

It's unknown how many others were injured in the crash that occurred just east of San Gabriel Boulevard.

At least one traffic lane was reopened shortly before 4:30 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. California Highway Patrol did not immediately release additional information.
